Friday night 11:30pm! Mom, I can’t sleep...! Let’s make churros...
So we did!
The original Spanish churros were made with just flour and water (maybe some oil) dough but nowadays in Mexico, churro batter has eggs, butter and sugar. Looking back at history, Mexican churros must have been influenced by French invaders (just like Mexican bolillos are very similar to French baguettes). And because butter and eggs are tastier than no butter or eggs!
This is our version - no eggs and no butter.
Warm, Fresh-fried, crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle....a perfect late night snack!
